When can an LMS be beneficial?
An LMS can offer up many benefits including the ability to keep track of course completion statuses, curriculum in progress, as well as scores for completed course assessments.
You may also benefit from an LMS if you:
have a geographically diverse workforce
have a largely mobile workforce
have ongoing professional development requirements
have a need to update your training materials often
feel that you need to complement instructor led training with self-paced online learning
must provide reports on employee learning activities
There are many more reason you may need an LMS.
Most small business do not have the budget or resources available to support an in-house LMS solution. Many hosted solutions sound great, but can end up costing much more than you bargained for because of licensing restrictions and hosted support fees.
